Body Damage is Cool

Well CJ, Keep in mind that you can't see the interior mods that they did on it as well. I know a shop that used a trooper, and they basically built a new interior inside the body of the trooper. The called it their box in a box (in a box)
I have seen some pretty insane mods to make vehicles sound better, and I am willing to bet that they did some pretty extensive mods inside that thing to make it sound good and be a tight seal.
I think I will stick with my 2 10's and little sony amp though.
1992 Isuzu Rodeo 2WD (some assembly required). "If it doesn't fit....Force it!! If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway."

pity it's a SPL device, what a waste of a trooper. I work for an amp/speaker company and I still think SPL competitions are totally There WAS an armored gen1 trooper on ebay several months ago. I wanted it mostly for the super low miles, but also for the cool factor - but had no $$

I wanted it mostly for the super low miles, but also for the cool factor - but had no $$ Yeah, I saw an armored (or armoured) Trooper last years sometime on Ebay. It woulda been pretty cool to know your rollin' down the street and can actually flip those guys off on the interstates in CA without fear of getting HIT with they shoot back! I thought at first this green machine was armored from the looks of the passenger window and windsheild. Maybe some sort of vibration dampening for the "music"? Also, with the rear window covered, I thought of our English or European brethren where they avoid some SUV tax due to having no rear window, cause some law states that having that (the window) will put them in some catagory that is taxable and if it is covered (outta sight, outta mind) it's van. Well, hats off to someone pushing the envelope and making something "new". But jeez....poor ole Trooper. I bet it misses the trails. Dana

Well, hats off to someone pushing the envelope and making something "new". But jeez....poor ole Trooper. I bet it misses the trails. Well, not so much if it was a 2-WD. I bet these sound guys have the same feeling about us. They'd probably be mad at Dan H. for not damping properly and putting in a 2nd amp. Assuming it was a 2-WD, then they essentially rescued a Trooper and are spending every bit as much time and effort as Dan H. making it the best in it's field. If it gets more people realizing the Isuzu possibilities, then I'm all for it. I'll tell them that if I see them. Oh, sorry, it's a dB drag vehicle: I SAID I'LL TELL THEM THAT WHEN I SEE THEM. Heck, we should be nice to them if only for their mad fab skills. Lots of precision and attention to details. Gee, that doesn't sound like anything we'd be interested in, right? It's not what I'd do, but if it's done with skill, then my hat's off to them. Wayne

Unlike the Rodeo, pickups and Amigo, there have never been an 2WD Troopers, or VXs for that matter.

yep, never have been 2wd troopers. but anyway, the window bracing is to keep the windows from popping out and/or shattering. 150+ dB tends to do that. The back passenger windows are presumably "stock" because they presumably roll them down when competing. Actually surprising anyway that they don't shatter. The truck doesn't have headlights or anything because it just rolls into a trailer when it's done sitting in one place. Probably has 4 alternators and a switch to kick the idle up to 2500rpm, too. .... though, given the covered radiator and grille maybe they yanked the engine altogether to make room for more boom and run it off a mains power supply? I don't know if that's in the rules for dB drags, as I still think those are stupid. speaking of dB drags... wonder what's gonna happen to them when these start rolling off the assembly line?

THanks; I was sticking at the above word (not being a Trooper expert) The Goverment, Autochannels, *and* e-bay all say 2wd Troopers exist. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Isuzu+Trooper+2WD
