BUMP!!!! I need to bring this thread back up because I want more power out of the 22re and I think a 10lb boost package tuned down to 8psi should net up around 200hp yes?? Im curious how much extra stuff you need outside of the basic kit.

Um...no, and certainly not 200 hp at the rear wheels. Maybe160-170 hp at the wheels, at sea level on a cold day running premium, assuming the motor also has the additional necessary tidbits to support this sort of power (bigger injectors, header, performance exhaust, performance cam, aftermarket ignition). Remember, stock 22RE makes 116 hp at the crank, so a jump from that to 200 (wheels or crank) is serious business.

Also, remember that the supercharger is parasitic, so it will take power to spin it, and the faster it spins the more power it will need.

I'm not knocking superchargers, as I have one on my 3RZ 4Runner, but the gains I saw were very modest -- maybe 15 hp at 5 or 6 psi of boost. My 3RZ motor is stock except for a header and exhaust.

On my 22RTE, I'm currently making 222hp on 15 psi of boost. But this is a race-prepped motor with a serious pedigree (and an expensive learning curve). You can certainly get 200+ hp from a 22RE with forced induction, but it doesn't make that sort of power easily or cheaply.

Not knocking your dreams, just wanted to share some thoughts and perhaps set your goals to more attainable levels.
