Getting the Wheeling Fever

I have been searching around and have been trying to figure out the best way to put together a cat-back exhaust. On the 3.2 what is the best size to use from the cats back? 2.5? 2.25?
I would like to have a shop fab a new "Y"pipe because I have heard that the stock one is fairly constrictive. Any ideas on this or just a waste of cash? Also there are about a million and one different opinions on mufflers to use!! What I am looking for is a fairly quiet at idle; a decient tone on acceleration; able to hear my 2400 Watt stereo when cruising on the highway; BUT what I absolutely don't want is that "raspy horrible poping something has definitely got to be wrong with that guys engine <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />" exhaust. So what does that leave me with if anything? Flowmaster? 40? 50?, Magnaflow? Dynomax Super Turbo?
Thanks for your input
