You won't be able to use anything from a 98'+ vehicle. The axle is still a D44, but not compatable. An LSD from an earlier Rodeo or Passport could be swapped, but you have to change the whole carrier. This would require setting up the gears as well.

It would be easier to swap the entire axle of compatable ratio to get the LSD.
