Cigarette Lighter Died Again

My cigarette lighter died about a year ago while using an air compressor plugged into it. I pulled it out and put a volt/ohm meter on it and found where it fried. I soldered it back together and it worked until last week when I plugged a power inverter into it and tried to use an electric staple gun.
Now my question, is the Trooper (95) a special lighter, or can I go anywhere like AutoZone and buy a generic lighter and replace it?
thanks, michael

I'm pretty sure its a normal lighter. You could also get a 12volt power outlet( the same as the cig lighter) And wire it in somewhere else.
89 trooper, tera low t-case gears,5.38's, 3" indy4xsus lift3"body lift,safari snorkle,warn winch,custom bull bar,custom rock sliders,warn hubs,35x13.50r15,custom rear bumper trooper pics

Well, I went to Orilley's and AutoZone, and neither of them carry a lighter replacement. The plugs on it are a different size than the OEM.
So I broke out the solder gun and ran a very long bead to get it from point A to B, and put it back in. Now, there is no way the wire will burn again, but my Trooper might burn up.
I guess I am going to call St. Charles and see if I can get one from them unless somebody has an idea where else to get one?
thanks, michael

...unless somebody has an idea where else to get one? Maybe a junkyard trip is in order? [EDIT] Either that, or maybe you could talk Mark (Wareagle) out of his... As I recall, he doesn't smoke anyhow. [/EDIT]

Radio Shack.. they have all the power goodies, even though they don't sell car stereo parts anymore I would hardwire it to the battery with 14ga. wire and an inline fuse rated at a little above your inverter, because it uses the most juice you will most likely be pulling. Your inverter should have a built in fuse also, so you should be fine if you plug in an electric drill or circular saw
