I have a tilt column in my 86 CJ7. I am trying to replace the upper bearing but can't find anybody that knows what the bearing part number is. I was wondering if anyone has done this before or if anyone knows the part number? My bearing fell apart and I don't want to replace the whole column just because of the bearing.
Thanks, Bryan <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Howdy BRYAN Spokane MUST have a bearing house.. Take it (bearing) out and take the parts you still have down there.. I betcha they have an exact replacement for it. All bearings are kind of simple when you get right down to it. You will find few if any bearings that are "special". It seems the engineers pull out the book and write down a bearing they see in the book! I think there will be JOY at the bearing house tonight.
