Well that's interesting information and good to know. While I've heard of a few 3.4 swaps, I've never heard of an actually 3RZ swap and wondered why.

Still, it sure would be a nice motor to have.

We have also changed the 2.7 not sure the new name but the only diference is its VVT-i engine. 118kw standard.

I know a company in South Africa that puts 2.7's/KZTE into old shape hilux's i.e solid axle ones that look simular to your trucks.

Just wondering how many miles you guys have done on these motors.

108,000 and plenty more to go.

Hey, did your blower come from Alpine?? I believe they were the originators of the 2.7/2.4 blower. Just curious.

Could you post a couple pics of your truck wheeling in S.A.?
(Maybe even in another post since it would be off topic)

Still, I have no doubt it's a good motor. I would love to transplant one in my truck to replace my 22RE.

one of the guys that works over at marlin crawler has a 2.7 in a pre-taco truck, there is a thread about it somewhere on the marlin BBS, theres should be lots o good info in there if yer really wanting to do a swap like that

and to stay somewhat on topic, 99 taco w/ a 2.7, ~105k miles, rear main seal leaked, fixed under warranty, no probs besides that

The supercharger used on our Hilux's is from TRD, at a latter stage I want to fit a Solid front axel with 33X12.5R15's and the Supercharger!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

'96 Tacoma SX 4wd. 92k miles! Regular maintenance and one Rear CVD failure. I'm guessing in another 10 years, I'll be pushing 200k.

Trucks been floated and rolled and still the motor runs w/ nothing done except power steering pump plugs wires and oil changes. Truck even ran a minute or 2 upside down when rolled as i tried to regain my senses and realized what happened
