X-ray is normal in Customs inspections, as is physical inspection. Sometimes - even for a business - there is just the luck of the draw, but consider that a shipment from Indonesia (where many anti-American terrorists operate) is always of interest - particularly when it is not a routine shipment from a regular shipper. Even for a legitimate business that is a regular importer, Customs is required to inspect a certain number of shipments to the customer per year (or an inspection every so many shipments). I have shipments held up frequently for inspection for many reasons - sometimes it's USDA inspection for insects, sometimes Customs agents looking for veracity in documents, etc. Get used to it - particularly in this day and time.... and be glad they're doing it.
