Hi guys , has anyone ever given any thought to trying to make the trooper a little more aerodyanmic in the front end?I mean some way to alter the boxy front end a little , and maybe improve performance with less drag , and even increase fuel economy just a little as your not pushing as much air.
I was thinking with a little work on the front end , there has to be a way to make some kind of nose spoiler for the trooper , maybe a little creativity with fiberglass or some such.
Anyone else out there have a crazy idea like this at all , and if so , what kind of things did they have in mind?

Trooper What? Have you been in the BC bud again? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> There isn't a whole lot you are going to accomplish with what you have to work with. Basically you are going to have to somehow reduce cross-sectional area, but you can only accomplish that by extending the nose forward, but at that point you are losing any off-road capability. Potentially you could fashion an air dam which would smooth the flow under the front bumper area and around the front suspension and wheels, but again, it will be counter-productive in terms of off-road capability.

get a piece of plexiglass and mount it from the front of the hood to the top of the windshield. cut out the back window and the rear cargo windows, fold the roof down like a freakn Aztek, put a sunroof in the newly diagonal rear roof section...
bam, ugly-ass POS with 1% better aerodynamics.

I can't remember the guy that has this in his sig. But it's one of my favorites:
My trooper has the aerodynamics of a brick and the power to match.
I agree on not messing with the look of the first gen.

So I take it as an emphatic NO! that no one has done anything on the troopers <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Hey , I'm just trying to think of things to improve and or make the trooper a little more unique.
And as for the BC bud , I don't smoke that stuff , makes the brain deteriorate.
Now what was I saying again? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

SURE!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Lessee, aerodynamic improvements...
-33" tires so there's more surface for the air to hit, which gives it a softer impact,
-Steel Indy4x bumper with Hella lamps, allowing the air to flow around and over the metal as opposed to the flimsy, stock bumper that wiggled at high speed causing way too much buffetting.
-3" BL & 3" rear shackles so the air flows through the suspension more easily.
-Herculiner on lower body panels for more of a "natural" texture allowing the wind to curve around the supple form of the 1st Gen.
And stickers on the rear window, eliminating the eddies caused by the Trooper's large flat <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />, pulling the wind back into a gentle breeze much as a Dodge Viper does.
Oh wait.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
You said BETTER aerodynamics! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
Don't be silly <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
If you wanted that, you'd have gone with a compact car.
But instead you got a rig with more wind resistance in stock form than anything out there except maybe for a Land Cruiser. I love driving down the road @ 70 (If I'm lucky) and having a 5mph cross wind jump up and surprise me by pushing me almost into the next lane and scare the bee-jeezus outta the Lexus next to me that sees nothing but large black tires about to rub up on her pretty white paint.
Life sucks. Get a helmet. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
