Basically there are 3 different types of octane boosters.Solvents,Alcohols and some great big name but abbreviated to MMT.

Alcohol boosts the octane a little but bonds with the water in the tank and all that falls to the bottom.

Solvents barely BARELY add octane levels so are the preverbial "snake oil"

MMT gives you 3 to 5 ACTUAL numbers on your octane levels.Say going from 89 to 92 or 95.It will foul plugs over time and kill an O2 sensor. It will boost the numbers but at a cost.

Critics choice is Glod Eagle's 104+ in the red bottle.Actual gains and it isn't too expensive.

If you continually run an octane booster it will leave deposits in your combustion chamber that will cause your engine to have a never ending need for Octane.Choose wisely.

As for my personal views of what has gone through my car and my Rodeo.I like Lucas fuel sysem cleaner and occaisonally Gold Eagle's 104+ in the car...because it's funny.
