As stated, just want to know if an 85 and up will work with my 84 22R. I know there are differences between the 4wd and 2wd pans (I'll need a 4wd obviously).

The reason I'm asking is because my current one is fubared. Even after checking the pan for warpage and flattening out the areas around the bolt holes, it still leaks and I've gone thru 2 gaskets already. I am absolutely fed up with those stupid cork gaskets <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />. I even took special care to not overtorque the bolts and extrude the gasket.

If I can't find a pan, has anyone successfully been able to just use FIPG or Permatex 'Right-Stuff' on an 84 and prior style pan rather than the gasket? If so , maybe I'll opt for that route.
