VSC Off, VSC and Engine Check Light #610167 06/03/05 05:11 AM

I have a 2001 Super Charged 4 runner, awesome SUV I have to say. But the damn VSC Off, VSC and Engine Check light comes on everyonce and awhile all at the same time. I've noticed it come on close to 14,000ft on trails and also when it rains. I took it to the dealer under warranty the first time and they said it was a hose that came loose. I think they lied. Just wanted to see if any one out there has experienced the same problem and has found a solution.

That happened with me. It was a charcoal canister replacment. Under warranty for you but my warranty was up when this happened.

Have the code pulled. I think AutoBarn does it for free.

Thanks a lot for you help. I would have never guessed something like that. I'll try taking it to the dealer to see if they'll replace it under warranty.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
The exact same thing happened to me and it turned out to be a faulty seal in the gas cap. May want to have them check that too. Good luck.

I just had the same thing pop up, and being the stupid newbie that I am, I took it to the dealer to replace the charcoal assembly (what the f$%^ that is, I have no clue) to the tune of @$600.
