Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Truck will not idle right, was running fine until this morning. Went to start it and engine ran for a few minutes, I stepped on gas when it started to idle low and the engine shut off. I measured resistance at Primary Coil and Secondary Coil they both checked out OK. Inspected spark plugs reset gaps. Replaced Fuel Filter Cleaned TB
Any ideas what else I can look at. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Thanks,

Did your mass air flow wire harness come off by any chance? Will it still start and just do the same thing?

The MAF harness didn't come off, but I did check resitance on it and also checked the EFI main relay again both checked out ok. Will it still start and just do the same thing?
Do you mean start it with the MAF unplugged?? I never thought of that, I'll try it. Thanks,

CEL- code 14....
You will find youe problem in the wiring leading to the igniter from the ECU or in the 2 wire between the igniter and distributor. More than likely the 3 wire crossing over the valve cover to the igniter though. Check the connections at the plug and then do a check of the wiring itself for damage/continiuity. Alot of times this wiring gets pinched or makes contact with the exhuast manifold and burns. Code 14 basically means that the ECU isnt getting the trigger signal from the igniter...resulting in the ECU killing the injectors.
