Peter, you being there would be one thing, your Amigo being there would be another. Last I saw it's still tanning in Sunny California.

I hope I can make it this time. If I can't make it with my troop, is there anyway I could fly there and ride along with someone?? But I really hope I can have my troop there .

Hey if you get your trooper ready let me know maybe we can make it a caravan from Texas. If not I might have some seats available.

What are the dates for the Moab ZuZoo? I saw May 17, 2006 in the first thread, does that mean that it starts that day and runs thru the weekend?

Thanks,

Jaime

Usually it is a four day event, Wed - Sat. Lots of people come early and get some sightseeing and trail runs in before the official event, though.

Just like what Steve said, if you are coming from out of state, I would recommend travelling over the weekend before which would be May 13/14 then you would have Monday and Tuesday to site see. You are within driving distance to Zions N.P., Canyonlands N.P. and other great scenic areas...as well as river rafting exploratory wheeling etc.

Then you will probably want to schedule getting back to work the Tuesday following the event(May 23) This will allow you Sunday and Monday to drive back. Now, depending on how far you are and how much continous driving you can handle you may be able to do going back on Monday...that is up to you.

Registration usually starts the night before the event, so check-in would begin on Tuesday night. It really is up to you on when you get there. I have seen some people come mid-way through the event, and I have seen some that have taken 2 weeks off, and made a big event out of the roadtrip.

I personally like the Wed-Sat format which is a change from the original of Thur-Sund. This makes it easier on those that come from a distance to get back to work and possibly only miss a week.

Make it out if you can, it is awesome seeing all the trucks, and meeting the various people, not to mention the scenary if you haven't seen it before.

I only have one question: Are we going to be able to pre-register for trail selection or is it going to be like last year?

I suppose that would all depend on whether or not the event is official or not. Remember that the insurance might get so astronomical (not to mention the possible change in BLM policy - Did you write your letter yet? ) that might make it too expensive for Zu Zoo Inc. to sponsor the event... Is that right Randii?

It is a good question, Jeff... 'Zu Zoo, Inc. is hard at work researching how we can pull this off without requiring double or triple the fees, or having to absorb the hit like 2005. As Molly noted, there's also potential complications with respect to the permit, as well.

We had some interesting discussion on this in another recent thread: http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...&Number=789848&Forum=c15
Scan down a bit in that thread for more details.

We'd rather plan WELL in advance, too, FWIW. Here's how I do it: one way or another, I'll be 'wheeling in Utah, but the specifics are as yet indeterminate. In the meantime, you can write a letter to the BLM to assist us (Molly provided the link) or buy a lottery ticket to perhaps help with the insurance cost!
