Oh man, that sucks. Hope the dog recovers fully, they are usually pretty resilient.

Don't give up on the trip just yet! All you need is a trusted friend or family member who can stay home from work and take care of your pooch...unlikely maybe, but you should ask around.

I would consider the cabin but they don't allow dogs, and I am bringing mine...

Best wishes either way!

Say it isnt so! That SUCKS... What kind of dog is yours, and how did the accident happen? (Something I always am wary of when going to the dog park)

I dont know about the cabin, I suppose I could ask around and see if there is a need... I had planned to tent it again this year.

What about the option Steve laid out... Any friend, family member, neighbor, etc that could look after her in your absense?

I know you put a lot of work into your rig to make it ready for the trip and would hate to see that be for naught. Beyond that I dont have another option in mind...

She's a 10 month old Cane Corso. And she'll be fine, it just sucks right now. Helen had her at the park, I was working late to get everything done on time for vacation. She was playing nice with a doberman while a rottweiler of the same owner got over-protective while they were playing and grabbed her in the back and ripped her open.
I'm not going to say anything bad about rottweilers. My last dog was a rot and know that its the owner that makes or allows the dog behave the way it does. Mine was a sweetheart.

I can't in good conscience leave this problem with someone else.
Well, with all of the work i did on the Amigo maybe I'll get some weekend wheeling in here.
I think we have 48 hours to cancel the cabin anyway. I'm going to call them right now.

when looking for a container to hold drained brake fluid, find a container that is different from the beverage you are currently consuming.

Ah, shoot, Jeremy. We'll miss you in Moab, but I definitely appreciate your priorities. Give your fur-family a gentle hug from us, and fast wishes for speedy recovery.

Hey, anybody want to pre-run Fins 'n Things with me on Monday? Preferably somebody who knows where the hell they are going up there...wouldn't want to get lost or anything leading that run, that schtick has been done before...

Steve,
I would not worry about getting lost on F&T. Just follow the painted dino's and the carsonite signs. If you do feel uncertain about any part of the trail, I should be in camp by noon on Monday.

Well I know others have managed to get lost up there (speaking of which, what is up with Perosi anyway? Haven't heard a peep out of him for a while now), so I certainly am capable of it. I have been on the trail several times, but it has been at least 2 years.

Actually I do think I can figure it out on my own, but if anybody is looking for a fun run, by all means come along and help.

I dont think its possible to actually get LOST on F&T, but it isn't hard to lose track of the dinos with all the road crossings and loops you do. Worst case scenario you drive in circles for a while
