This may be posted in the wrong section, so mods, feel free to move me over.
Had tires rotated by a shop about 2 weeks ago. They were cool, nice, good guys to talk with while I waited.
Past 5 days I've had a rattle that I remember from my 1st Trooper...the silver hub cover was loose.
Today I get back to the shop finally and ask them to reseat it or add a piece of scrap metal to one or two of the lugs to tight down the hub (I know, redneck of me but hey )
Now, I know I coulda done myself, but it was 99degress and 100% humidity and I'm lazy. So there.
Well, good thing I DIDN'T do it...the guy who removed the lugs nuts(same guy who rotated em) broke off 4 bolts.
So, we go thru the old game of them knowing where to get the nuts, not listening to me about it being a special Isuzu thang...
Short story... I have the bevelled lugs that are not correct FOR NOW. And the hub cover in my floorboard.
I'm not happy.
Where can I get the nuts and correct posts (For all 4 wheels just in case)?? And please don't say thru Isuzu Customer Disservice.
Later TIA
Dana

That's one of the first things I learned about my Trooper, many years ago. Don't allow a tire shop/brake shop/whoever to use an impact driver on your lug nuts. Before I learned to do all this stuff myself, I always insisted that they take them off by hand using a lug wrench.
About 3-4 years ago when I bought new tires, they stripped one stud, and fortunately, they didn't argue about replacing it. Then they understood why I insisted to not use the impact wrench!

I rotated the tires on my former 99 Trooper myself every 10K. I used an impact wrench at its lowest power setting to snug them up, then final tightened by hand, never stripped a lug. Maybe I was just lucky, or maybe my $25 impact wrench isn't all that powerful, I dunno...

K, anyone know where I can GET the lugs & washers, besides Isuzu? Anyone....anyone....Bueller.... There was a thread on this not that long ago. I recently replaced a full hub's worth from Advance Auto on the Rodeo. I don't think they're quite as good as the stockers in retrospect, since I'm getting signs of rust around the corners, but they're cheaper and are the right look/size. A dab of anti-sieze on the lugs helps with the subsequent removeal as well, just don't go crazy on the stuff. James
