A friend and I just get back into phx after a 500 mile weekend in the weeds and pull into a local station to fill up. He tends to over fill his 01 runner tank. He drops me off a mile away and heads home which is about 10 miles away. As he pulls to his driveway, the truck sputters and stalls never to start again. Toyota claims that gas re entered his engine through a overflow or breather tube and flooded the engine. 6-800 smackers later. Any idea's ?? Kenny S>

I don't buy it. The line coming back to the tank is the fuel trim return and it has a check ball in the fuel pump to prevent fuel from going the other way. However if the engine could not bleed off extra pressure because the tank was so full, that might cause some sort of issue, although I can't think of what. Gadget might have more insight. What did they replace for that amount?
Sorry but this sounds kinda fishy
