Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anyone care to comment on the long term use of ball joint spacers?

I'd like to hear how they have behaved after several thousand miles. Any wear problems? Any alignment issues? Broken parts that could be attributed to adding the spacers?

I'm thinking of adding a set to my 86 4Runner, and using add a leafs in the rear along with my shackles to gain a little lift.

I've had them for a little over a year now. My junk isn't a daily driver, so I never got an alignment done after installing them. Still, I haven't seen any noticeable signs of the tires wearing funny.

I've wheeled my truck at least once a month since I installed them. I had a braced idler arm that broke on me, but that wasn't a result of the spacers. The ball joint where the idler arm attaches to the tie rod was shot and it separated.

I think the spacers are a much better idea than cranking the torsion bars.

I've had mine on for about 4000 miles. Not a single problem here.

I have about 6k miles and many hours of wheeling on mine without a single problem. I didn't even bother getting it alligned afterwards..(Caster/Camber just a hair off). I'd go with 2 inch lift shackles in the rear, you'll get some more flex and a smoother ride..

I am still loving mine. If I ever bought another IFS, I would put them on in a heart beat! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />
