I'm "getting off the 'ole lazy bum" tomorrow. Hope to fine something like you did and make this sucker run betta! Hey, even if it doesn't help, I will feel better having a soldered joint instead of a crimped one.

I gotta get some flux for my soldering iron...

You can't miss the splices - If you want just the injector splices, remember that they are off the motor, closer to the passenger side fender. Good luck with it!

Did that make sense???

2ToyGuy added some awsome tips. Always wanted to do it "right". I just pulled out the entire EFI harness and stripped it to wire looking for that same problem. My butts were still connected so i soldered over them. What a mess. Needless to say it is going to come back out and get done correctly. Cheers on the self sealing tape suggestion. Electrical tape just seems to melt away in the heat, but I still use it. I color coded each connections trail from the harness with 5 color elect tape. When I put it back in kinda had that, well, *** pride flag look to it. It's coming back out fer sure.
(P.S. we could use that flag down there in the instant gremlins like pirate's BB has. Comes in handy) my.019 cents worth

I'm givin up my toy and goin VWesty. Got my Westy and another Toy:)

Welp I did the deed yesterday. I stripped down the harness and found all the butt connections were still intact, although very corroded. The blue connection had a few strands broken, but I don't think it was enough to cause a bad disconnect. I cut them apart anyway and soldered them.

On the soldering, the tinnning of the wires went great! I had no idea that would work so well. But it was a mess soldering the two wires together afterwards. I made hooks before I tinned them. Then I put two hooks into the other hook. I put more flux on, then tried to solder by allowing the solder to flow from the tip to the wire (the same way I did when I tinned). This didn't work at all for me, so I ended up heating the wires until the solder would melt directly on the wires. This worked fine, but made for some pretty big joints. I hope they are okay!

I electric taped over them, then electric tape wrapped the whole harness. Then I put black plastic split loom over it, and then electric taped over that. It looks better than factory now. Hopefully these connections will last a long time!

Fun, eh? It looks so nice when you're done wrapping the loom up - ya don't wanna ruin it by goin' wheelin' in the dirt!

Yup, had the same deal happen when joining the wires together - one big blob. Oh well. She's still holding...
