Well, brakes get hot. Maybe the amount of heat you are experiencing is normal. It is expected that the fronts get hotter than the rears since the fronts provide more of the braking power than the rears.

Yeah, I know brakes get hot. I just didn't think they would get that hot after a short test drive. The test drive was less than 5 miles, under 45 mph & almost no braking!
Can you touch your rotors for any amount of time after a short trip? Just curious what other vehicles are experiencing.

Charlie, the front brakes do the most of the work. Combine that with the fact that you had less breaking force with the rear caliper defeated, and you have 33's which put a lot more force on the braking system, and I wouldnt be suprised that your rotors are that hot.
