The pressure that is on the tire is the max for the tire. That is not what you are supposed to run them at. Your starting point for your pressure is what is printed on the info plate on the DS door or in you owners manual.

hi. my tires are the same, they require 50psi on the road, Offroad i lower them to even 20psi

I dont do serious offroading, but in the mild stuff i do, i havent noticed any problems, and the low pressure has saved my tires a couple of times

Since I haven't set up any OBA yet, I run my tires around 18-20 psi, that way I don't feel as bad as if I were running 10 psi and having to drive on the street to the gas station. Poor tires. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

Main factor for your tire pressure for the highway, should be whatever pressure they were best at. Do the chalk test and determine what pressure allows your tires to make the best pattern so as to wear evenly.

Thanks,
James

I have some ideas for determining proper tire pressures, on- and off-road, on my web page...

I run 33x10.50 tires and run anywhere from 20-40 psi on the road (tires have a 50 psi max rating), usually around 25-30. Offroad, anything from 7-20 psi depending on the terrain, usually around 15.

so 30psi is not an unreasonable pressure then to run on the road! one of my buddies run 27psi with 32's and i thought it was to low.

Figure out what works best for your tires on your wheels on your truck. Close to half a dozen techniques on the web page above to determine a good pressure to use, 30 is decent. If you get even tread contact and wear, then that works. If I run 30 psi on mine (on 15x6 wheels) I get faster tread wear in the center, I need to drop to about 22 -24 psi to get even tread contact. So I run down there most of the time then run them in the 30-40 psi range for long highway trips to get better fuel mileage and handling.

I have a buddy running ~26lbs in 33x12.5x15's on 15.7 rims. He needs to run that low to allow full contact and even wear with those narrow rims.

Thanks,
James

on the 31x10.5 i have i run about 12-13 psi off road. no i dont have beadlocks and i havnt run into any issues yet. Ull need a pump to air up when ur done. 13 psi on road is scary. about 30 psi is standard for on road.
