the '82 engine is acting really, really funny since i replaced the head gasket. has kind of a tapping sound at idle, and under load makes sort of a soft knock(almost sounds like a bad exhaust leak). can't figure it out, since i used a toyota gasket and had the head milled ever so slightly. one problem i've had with the engine is that with it in the bay, the front left ARP head stud is either crooked in the block or the hole in the head is screwed up. can't get it on unless i pull that stud, set the head down and slightly to the side(on top the dowel), screw the stud in and reef on the head to get it to seat.

looks like i might be building the mighty little 20R that's sitting on its side behind the garage <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />
