For accuracy, I used my wife's 97 idle speed...
I'm pretty sure I am within a hundred, MAYbe two, RPM on the outside. Close enough for me. For that matter, I'd bet most Toy tachs aren't any closer. Redline sounds like redline, I would not want to take it higher. Nor would I need to. Even with the free flowing exhaust and intake, things start to fall off fairly quickly near there. Haven't run into the rev limiter yet, I think maybe that's 6 grand or so.

Not sure a 12 cylinder would still be within the tach's adjustment range.... Besides, that would be a combo of a front and mid engine design I think. Where would you put the coffee?

IIRC, even ORS hadn't figured it out yet (EDIT - not bagging ORS at all... just remember reading they didn't have a good solution).
He just had never implemented it, he did know about it (though did not know if it applied to anything besides a V6 tach). Mike is very comfortable with mechanics and wiring (and it shows), less comfortable with eeety beeeety leeetle PCB traces and resistors. Probably tried it but it didn't survive the oxy acetylene very well. Lets all the magic smoke out that made the thing work. Very important to not let the magic smoke out.

Got it - THANKS!

When I did my 4.3, I hooked up another tach and adjusted until they read correctly. I like your idea better. LOL!
