I'm still planning on seeing if it's the bad connection as mentioned above. If not, maybe by that time you'll have tested that OEM Fan you just linked to as well. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Any news on the results of your testing/tinkering? Was it a bad connection or a bad fan? If you'd like I can measure the oe Gen I fan so you can see if it will fit or if a Volvo fan as Hunter's noted can fit in it's place. Haven't seen this mod before but it would be cool if it does in fact fit.

I'm seriously considering going to all electric fans with a cut-off switch for water crossings myself.

And I'm out of town Fri-Sun, so who knows if I'll have time before then.

Just an FYI got a 1998 montero condensor fan from MS recycle for $100 plus shipping. Beats the heck out of $350 from the stealer. Now I have to take out the POS send it back to Mitsubparts.com fro my refund. Someone quoted earlier that sometimes you just can't beat the dealer products. I agree 100%

The iddiots sent me the wrong fan. I have another one coming in the mail. Now I have to take off the nonworking aftermarket and send it back, send back the wrong unit MS sent me then install the new one they are sending me! What a cluster F__K.

It was quit obvious the fan was about 2" smaller in diameter than the factory one. Different brackets ect. I opened the box and knew right away it was wrong. Still better than paying the stealer $300 for a new one.
