Yep, some of the 3rd gen pickups ('89 or later) had the wider perch and the rubber lined clamp to hold the springs. One option is to grind notches into the sides of the wide perch to fit the narrower u-bolts and spring plate, or cut off the wide perch and weld on a narrow one, or get a set of wider bolts and plates.
