If you have a little free time, and the means to do so, I say the absolute best training a person can get if they are serious is to dismantle one. Up this way in the rust belt, you can happen across ones that are ragged out from the salt, have a blown head, and various other sundry issues. The last one I got was for $75. Find one of those and just start in on it. As you do so, keep thinking "what is this supposed to do and how is it supposed to do it."
