There isn't a good mud tire for FL's mud, and . . . can give good highway mileage, too!

WRONG! Here me now and believe me later, Bridgestone Dueler MT's! I have nearly 10,000 miles on mine and can't see any wear to speak of yet. A friend has them on his TJ, has 50,000+ miles on and still going strong. They are relatively quiet on pavement and perform very well off road in mud, sand, rocks what ever. And I'm not just saying that because I have them Fred!

Jeepete, I think you're pretty savvy, and if you say Bridgestone Duelers for the Gulf's mud, then it must be okay! Personally, I try to avoid anything made by Bridgestone and Firestone.

Me too! If Firestones can't handle normal street use on a Ford Exploder, then why should I believe they would work on my Jeep!

The same GoodYear tread and overall design of the F'Stone Destination A/T that I am running costs a lot more and has a crappy warranty compared to what I am running....

Another do the dang math issue!

Wasn't blaming you, Fred. Can't recall who claimed the 40k on SSR's. And BTW, JeePete's Dueler MT's do a FINE job (with the help of his Aussie lockers). He's tugged me outa a couple puddles.

Everybody makes mistakes.I seem to recall a similar recall for Goodyear tires not long ago also. Look at the US Grad Prix fiasco where Michelin's faulty tires were to blame. I'm just saying everybody I know that uses these Bridgestone Deuler MT's (all three of us) Loves them for their performance and durability on and off road and they are the quietest MT's I've ever used.

Everywhere I have looked BF Goodrich M/T are rated the exact same as the Bridgestone Deuler MT's. Do they perform similarly, If you were me, which one would you get?

I have no experience with Goodyear MT's at all but I'm convinced the BridgestoneÆs hold up very well to use on pavement.

surfer, I'd recommend going with Jeepete's meats, the BS dueler's! If they don't work for you, you could always blame Jeepete and Chris!

For me, when I think of mud tires for muddy trails and mud'in . . . I think of big fat knobby tires with huge voids in the treads, you know, something like Interco's TSL's, Boggers, etc. These tires always score the best for mud in 4x4 rags comparo articles. GY (goodyear) MT/R's do well but are in the middle of the pack in the final results. Honestly, I haven't paid much attention to BS duelers, they never were a serious consideration. BFG M/T's are a great tires, but the voids in the tread are small and hold the mud a-little-too-well! BFG m/t's are a good all purpose tire and perform well on Moab's sandstone rocks.
