It doesn't sound like they fixed anything. You can drive in fulltime as much as you want, the manual is NOT wrong. The person who told you that is was wrong does not know anything about this transfer case.

See if you can contact a local Jeep club or stop someone who is driving a modified Jeep who has some trail damage and they should be able to tell you just what the problem is in a couple minutes.
