GM never really used anything with that low of a ratio, and the pinions may be different. I went through this, and found one from a 97 2wd 4cyl that literally bolted in place. The brakes swapped right over and everything. Now swapping to a disc brake equipped D44 is possible, but you will have to buy new pads, rotors, calipers and brake hoses. But they will all bolt up. Even the master cylinder is the same. The only things that need to be fabricated are the e-brake cable mounts.
