man o man, sorry to hear about all your troubles!

If it makes you feel any better it took four trips to get my mustang to get through emissions in CO and three trips to pass my 98 amigo (one trip being that the tires were to big)

In colorado, the Emissions Station runs your vehicle up to 55 - 60 MPH to simulate road driving. They use a set of rollers (like on a dyno tester). IF tires are bigger than 33s, they are afraid that the tires will roll/claaw/climb right on over the rollers and the vehicle will suddenly be travelling out the door

33s or smaller are required for passenger vehicle and trucks.

Recap: Lets call the Trooper that failed me Trooper Mary, and the guy I saw on Friday, who was like "I would never pass that vehicle" Trooper A.H..

Called the junkyard in VT on monday, they mailed me an original receipt for the bumper piece.

Yesterday I called the main office and they confirmed that the Trooper Mary (failed me last time) will be IN MILTON ON WEDNESDAY.

Today is Wednesday and the receipt came in the mail.

Trooper Mary failed me last time for:
-not blending the paint enough
-not having a photocopy of my title
-not not having an original receipt of bumper corner

I called my tow guy and brought the truck down to MILTON, where they said that Trooper MARY would be working.

I get waved in to the garage and open the door only to see the ugly mug OF THE STRICT TROOPER FROM LAST FRIDAY, TROOPER A.H.!!!

Trooper A.H. is like,
"I told you I can't pass this vehicle!, I talked to Trooper MARY [the woman who I was expecting to see] and she said she TOLD YOU TO REPLACE AND FIX THE WHOLE SIDE!"

I almost lost my self right there, A.H. must have put the heat on that female trooper Mary and asked why she was being so lenient, she probably lied to him to save her reputation.

A.H.: "I told you to come back tomorrow! [meaning in Bridgewater, far away, last monday]
Me: I have a full time job and have to schedule time off. I thought trooper mary would be here today, they told me mary would be here today.
A.H.: "She took some time off. We cannot pass this vehicle in the condition it is in. You can come back tomorrow morning if you want and see Trooper Mary but I don't know when she's coming back."

A.H. sits down and is like:

THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU. THE TWO SIDES OF THE VEHICLE MUST LOOK EXACTLY ALIKE. You have to get a new quarterpanel and a new door and paint it to match so both sides look exactly the same.

I asked "even if I'm putting minimum compulsory (no collision or theft) insurance on it?

A.H. says, "YES."

$670 = running tally of cash spent so far on local towing to and from salvage inspection sites.

Another picture of the current state of the vehicle:

Chris,

It sickens me to hear how much trouble (and money!) this whole mess has caused (and cost) youà

That Trooper A.H. guy sounds like a real tool.

After telling her about your situation, Miss Kathy just asked me if youÆve considered the possibility of titling it in another state, and then transferring it into Massachusetts from there.

ItÆs a thought.

That is complete crap! I cannot believe you have to make a salvage vehicle look better than 90% of the cars on the road! I doubt I could have kept my cool that long, i'd be in prison by now....well juvy.

Good luck man, hang in there

Here you could drive that thing in the same condiution you got it in , except for the broken tail light. An inspection here is not on looks , bnut the main safety issues , being tires , brakes , steering , and lights. If the body is all dented and stuff , its no big deal , unless its so badly rusted its falling apart.I see nothing wrong with your work at all , it actualy looks a lot better than some of the vehicles you see driving around on the streets everyday.

Sell it, man. You've already done all of the work. Put it back up on ebay & try to get your money back.

when looking for a container to hold drained brake fluid, find a container that is different from the beverage you are currently consuming.

Roll Me Over
?? You'd have to sell it to someone who wants an untitled salvage vehicle.

You've tried, and you're now losing because you're playing their game. These small people who go mad with their tiny bit of power are like cockroaches. All you need to do is find the correct flashlight.

Take this post.
Get the exact names if possible.
Write it all up neatly and without emotion.
Have a friend read it and help you where you weren't clear.
Re-write and have someone else proof it again.
Ask very nicely for help and for a written-into-law explanation.

Mail this letter (not e-mail) that requires a signature for receipt to your local state representative.
Copy DMV and local police captain.
Make sure receiptient and CC's are all on their, just like a professional business letter.

Wait a week.
Re-tailor it slightly and mail a letter to state congresspersons.
Copy DMV and police superintendant

Wait a week.
Mail a letter to state's federal representative for your district.
Copy higest official you can find in DMV and deputy chief of police for state.
(you will definily have their attention by now)

Wait a week.
Mail a ltter to your districts federal congressperson.
Copy higest official you can find in DMV and state chief of police.
