Drove down to the site Trooper "Mary" was working and she was there as was another Trooper. i did not bring my Amigo.
I walked in the office and told her I didn't bring my truck yet because I wanted to be sure she was here and I had all the correct paperwork. I re-explained why she had failed me before, showed her the paperwork she prevoiously requested, and told her what I had done to fix the problem. She said the other trooper, (trooper A.H., yeah he's a big one) had told her my truck was in rough shape.
I asked one last time, "do I need anything else" she's like no that should be it as long as no other damage exists beyond what she saw before. She said also I had to do a brand new inspection since she had not brought her notes from last inspection.
I return with the Amigo at 1:30PM today. There is a kid in front of me in line who was a perfect cover for me. He brought a 318i BMW and the kid's pants are halfway down and hat on sideways, walkin with a strut, the kind of kid the Trooper's HATE. Perfect cover for me.
He is waved in and gets Trooper "Mary", I was pissed because I had to get a brand new Trooper, lets call him Trooper "old man", in the second bay.
The kid next to me can't open the trunk and that is required so he's bouncing his butt on the trunk trying to open it. He keeps using his clicker thing making the car beep and this upsets my trooper, "old man".
Old man says "If you keep beeping that thing then you will have to get out of my garage!!" I am trying to run an inspection over here!!"
So I'm thinking I'm a dead man because this guy is a real piece of work also. Both Old Man and Trooper Mary are looking at this kid's Beemer since it's misisng VIN stickers on both doors and some engine parts. This kid was a great cover for me since he was really getting them all riled up with his purple BMW.
The trooper old man comes over to me and sees me in my shirt and tie, good advice from Eric D. He asks me if I have my paperwork. I hand him my folder with everything in it.
He says, "No I don't want this-- I just want your paperwork!!!"
Oh man, I am a dead man.
He examines my papers quickly then stares directly at my quarterpanel and bumper cover. he grabs the corner bumper cover and pulls noticies it is shaking and wobbly. I did not fix all of the mounts under supporting it, and did not remove the center bumper cover in order to get those two bolts in to hold it down. You 2nd gen Amigo guys know what I'm talking about.
He shakes the fender flare because that's not locked down either. I broke a few screw anchors upon reinstallation and didn't use all of the screws.
He says, "Well, we just started and the truck is already falling apart!!!!".
Here I am contemplating just grabbing the guy's gun and holding him hostage. Luckily I didn't.
He goes in the office and leaves me alone for a long time. He comes out the door to the office and asks:
"Chris, did you bring your check?"
I thought this was a good sign since they only ask for money if you pass. I blurt out, "Oh it should be there in with all my other paperwork."
He screams back from across the garage:" DO YOU THINK IF IT WAS IN THERE I'D BE ASKING YOU FOR IT???"
I find the chek on my seat, run it over to him and say sorry Sir my mistake. (haha)
He says,"well obviously. it wasn't MINE!!"
Man this guy gets an A+ in ballbusting but I am still optomistic.
he comes out and motions for me to talk to him besides the truck away from the guy in the BMW.
He says, "how long have you owned this truck?" I replied "2 months."
he goes on, "Listen you've got yourself a lot of work to do on this truck. I could have pulled that bumper piece off with my bare hands. This truck has to go through this process as if it came rolling out of the factory., Your supposed to go over everything. I am going to give you a break now but if you ever go through this process again you have to fix everything perfectly. I don't want those other guys to know I passed you or they'll be all over me asking why I passed you. What they don't know is that you've failed twice already. So here is your documents, get out of my garage.
So I turned out of there and drove off and did not look back.
I go to the registry tomorrow and pick up my plates.
