as soon as I get my amigo driving, I'm going to convert my pup into a weekend warrior

transmission is out of a 99 4Runner, r150F model. Got the whole package for $350, not sure what to do with the chain t-case and bell.
[Linked Image]

here are 2 gear driven cases I practially stole from a yard for 50 each. they even had the shifters and mounts. gonna throw some 23 spline inputs in them with a marlin dual adapter
[Linked Image]

3800 from an 02 camaro with 17k miles complete engine harness and exh manifolds.
[Linked Image]

I'll use the 99 4-cyl dodge dakota bellhousing to bolt this thing up to the above trans and another adapter afte rthe trans to the cases. the freaking adapters are seriously more money than the driveline, they aren't cheap...

megasquirt will probably control the fuel injection and spark but I need to do a ton more research as to how everything will work

My first and only engine mod will be to slice some "speed-slits" in the plastic bag covering the intake as I hear that is good for atleast 10HP. all the racers do this.

Dude, this will be the least of your problems. I got all the info you need to wire up MS fuel and spark to the 3800. You'll want to tweak the maps for the non-SC motor, but the one's I've got will be a safe starting point. I spent a good amount of time getting mine up and going, but with the info at hand, you could do it in a quarter of the time. GM DIS ignition with the MS is not something more than a couple people have done.

Think the rental place will notice if their car comes back without a supercharger

If its a rental , it must have insurance , the car got 'stolen' Then you have a brand new supercharged engine

I envy you guys that have the skills , time and tools/space to do all these interesting swaps. With me , I have nowhere to work on this stuff , also just have the basic tools to work with.Takes a lot of the fun out of it.What I wouldn't do for a nice 2 bay shop with all the air tools , a lift , engine hoist , welders , and all the tools I could ecer want

Oops , lost focus for a minute there A guy can dream can't he?

oh comeon!!, I don't have a lift, a serious welder (just a 120V flux mig for now), an engine hoist (next week), or a 2 bay garage. Most of my friends are like "you are psycho for trying so much your first real buildup." should make this interesting.

I do my work in my front yard , with about 2 feet between my vehicles Makes it pretty interesting anyway , not to mention your on gravel which isn't 100% stable compared to ashphalt or concrete , plus you get nice puddles to work in when it rains

Welllll shoot, I'm jellous!!! I've been wanting to do this exact same combination of Camaro/Firebird 3800 (That is what that motor is, isn't it?) and Toyota trans/double T-cases... But, on the posative side, YOU get to do all the prototyping. When it comes my turn to play this game, I can just ask you or refer to this thread as to exactly what parts I'm going to use. smile I plan on using a stock computer though.

Barak - sounds like you and I are working in the same driveway

Oh Yeah, I bought a sheet of pink foam insulation at home depot. makes lying in the gravel soooooo much more pleasant - Jackleg
