looks like you're all set.

I once installed a rear main on a rebuild and it leaked like you're saying. turns out the seal had a small cut in it.

it's just a pain when you have to pull a transmission out for $20 worth of parts and supplies, but you'll be glad once it's done.

so you're sleeving the crank, replacing the seal & rear main cover gasket, correct?

try a FIPG instead of the old permatex RTV -- they make a product called The Right Stuff. it comes in one of those aerosol spray cheese cans, and it's $12, but it's sticky, not slimey, & sets up within 5 minutes, and you can run it as soon as you get it all put back together.

Yeah, I should be a tranny Re&Re expert by the time this is done, seeing as I just had it off like 20km ago...lol.

Yes, I'll be sleeving the crank, and then replacing the main seal and main cover gasket (should I be using some "Right Stuff" with that gasket?).

I've already discovered "The Right Stuff", except I have it in a small caulking tube size. That stuff is awesome! I was having a real bad time with those cork gaskets (as my year of engine/ oil pan style is supposed to use them). I replaced it twice and then said "screw it, I'm trying the Right Stuff"... and man does it work good!

Anyway, I worked on it a it tonite... tranny will be ready to pull first thing in the morning (I got the day of work..heheheh) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
