JL, those are 31's, right?

Correct. Originally, they looked a lot bigger than the stockers. Now, I am used to the look of the 31's and they don't look so "big" any more.
The only 32x10.5 I can find are Swampers. I think they would be good tires, but I cannot find any weight specifications for these tires. If they are much heavier than what I have now, I think I will pass due to the horsepower robbing diameter and any extra weight.

Don't forget about that extra weight...HTH - JL

Edit to add - sweater was the one who told me about the 33x10.5's working just fine and I believe him. However, I wanted these wheels and I highly doubt 33x10.5 would work due to the "bs". These 31's are pretty close when stuffed. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

I had 33x12.5x15 on 15x8s with no rub on the street. Now off road, that's a totally different.

How bad was the rubbing offroad? My 'wheeling days are probably numbered. I can live with a little rubbing offroad, I would like the additional clearance of the 33's for the occasional obstacle and the additional contact patch of the 12.5's.

Right now I'm looking at the 32x11.5 as a compromise.

It wasn't too bad. At least not enough to make you want to stop. But, it wasn't that hardcore of wheeling either. It was mainly like some fairly rutted road type of stuff. But never saw any indication of it doing damage. Just that you could here it is all.

Body Damage is Cool
1JL: you want the weight with, or without a wheel for that swamper? Your tires stick out way more than my 10.5's. I like yours better. Probably adds alot more stability in onroad cornering. I wonder if i get that with Snowflakes? We'll see...
Ill check and see what one swamper weighs tonight. I dont think it will be that much worse. And according to Petersons 4wd&OR, the high way cruising with your 4.56 rear end gears should be better, and improve gas mileage. But thats a topic for a whole 'nother thread.

Richard: What BS did those wheels have?

Also, does anyone know if a 12.5" tire recommended for an 8 or 9" min rim width will fit on a 7" OK? Will I have problems keeping a bead (I would think not, though the tire shop might not like me much).

I thought 12.5" wide tires were recommended to go on 10" wide rims.

I think I also heard that at one point Joe was running 12.5" wide tires on snowflake rims, don't remember if it was the 7" or 7.5" snowflakes.

They made the Snowflakes in 7.5"? I thought they were only 6 and 7"?

There are the 15x7 snowflakes and the 16x7.5 snowflakes.

You will not have an issue keeping a bead as long as you do not air down for off-road.

However, I would think that the buldging side wall effect would change the handling of the truck. Also, I would think that your wear pattern would be off and you would get fewer miles on the the tires. I am only speculating at this point as I have not tried this. - JL
