....When I was tire shopping, they had a "We will beat any price, guaranteed!" at the top of their page. I sent them a link to another site with lower prices and they said they would not beat it. False advertise much? ...

Yeah, I've had difficulty with their price match. It always takes atleast 2-3 e-mails to get a response.

On the shipping deal, I understand how drop ship works, so I'm not going to fault them for slow ship....still, they do a poor job of keeping their customer in the loop. They don't provide an online "where's my stuff" option and customer service lacks any system (or desire) to update you on status of your orders.

Other than that, no complaints. I've always received the product that I order in mint packaging. Prices are within reason, etc.

Given the choice, Matt, Joe D, Merlin (St Charles), or John (Sam's Offroad) are my preferences. They all own/service Isuzus and are willing to whatever it takes to get things right .

My giant Furukawa battery broke a plate while off roading. I price checked an Optima at a few places and 4 Wheel had the lowest installed price. When the battery gave out, I was back in San Jose and going to work. I couldn't afford to get battery acid on my good clothes. I had the Furukawa jumped. The SLX would run but wouldn't restart. When I showed up at the 4 Wheel Parts store, they said there would be a big fee for installation. They have a minimum charge for any shop work and the shop is separate. I [color:"red"] complained and the parts guy agreed to go out and install the battery so I could go to work. When I checked the job they had packed the battery hold down with cardboard to shore up the Optima! If I took that offroad it would have been a disaster.

Roll Me Over
I just thought I'd resurrect this thread because of what happened to me yesterday. I just bought a 2001 VW Beetle a few months ago. It's about time for it's timing belt change. So I do the research and find the best price/quality parts at a place called www.dieselgeek.com

Well just for a comparision between the two companies I'll share what happened:

[color:"red"] I got online and made my order, paid with a credit card and went to church. I didn't think anything else about it. About 7:30 that evening (it's Sunday mind you) and the phone rings. I answer and it's Jim Royston with dieselgeek customer service.

He tells me he's having a problem with the address I gave him. He's getting an error when trying to make his shipping label. I know what happened right away as I have just moved and forgot I'm in Bluefield VA not Bluefield WV now. I thanked him for his catching my error and getting in touch with me.

My package shipped out this morning and I got an email and a tracking number letting me know it's on the way.

So does anyone see the difference between the two compaines? He called me to correct a problem. Not me calling customer service numerous times trying pull teeth to find out information.

Props to Diesel geek. If anyone has a Diesel in their fleet I highly recommend them for parts and great service.

Joe
