Not indexing and not increasing height by cranking the bars.

TrooperJ - here is the information that you requested.

[Linked Image]

Scribe a line on both brackets as shown above. This is before you do anything. I made the mistake of using a paint pen. This creates a line too thick to be accurate. You can scribe your line in a better position than that. I was not sure how far the upper bracket would rotate and I wanted to make sure it would be in a position for me to make a second mark.

Now, take 27mm socket and put it on the bolt shown above.

Remove bolt.

scribe your second line. I made two new marks due to my initial screw up.

[Linked Image]

Take a 17mm socket and loosen these two nuts. Do not remove the nuts. With these loose, go back to the rear of the bar where you marked your brackets. You can push up on the rear of the bar and slide the bracket off. Once the bracket is off, pull the bar toward the rear of the truck. It will come right out.

Put never seize on both ends of the new bar and insert one end into this bracket.

Clean and never seize the bolt, both pivots and the bracket.

Reinstall in reverse order of removal making sure that your second scribe line is aligned on both brackets. Mine was not when I took this picture. Had to remove and install again.

Now, push the rear of the bar all the way forward to ensure you have it properly seated. Then tighten the 17mm nuts.

Tighten the 27mm bolt until your scribe line is aligned with your first mark. Rpeat for other side of truck.

Drive vehicle then measure the height to ensure it is correct for your application. This was easy to do and does not take long at all. It took longer to take the pictures than it did to remove and install the passengers' side. These new bars put in the original location (original crank)raised the front of my truck due to the larger diameter bar (higher "spring" rate). I like the ride better. These eliminated the "float" that the front had crossing bridges and such. Very happy. Now, to install the leafspring bushings and shackles <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

making the marks on the brackets is not necessary. You can measure and crank the bars until you get both sides exact. By making the marks, both sides of my truck were exactly (< 1/16") the same height.

Hope this is useful to someone.
