Ummm....what are you cutting? If you are trying to remove the lip that is on the backside of the sleeve...DON'T.

Clean up the crank surface where the sleeve will be covering...tap on the sleeve making sure to slide it on evenly all sides and dont moosh it. Once the lip makes contact finish assembling everything and see if the sleeve took care of the leak.
