John - is that a multi-mount winch on the front of your T in the 2nd picture?

If so, what can you tell us about it?

It is a Ramsey QM5000. I've had it since 1993, I bought it after spending a day and a half trying to get my Land Cruiser out of a muddy situation (a high-lift jack is great, but requires a lot of work).

The front hitch is pretty simple, I think you can buy one from Hidden Hitch now. I bought the 'T' shaped cross tube and hitch section, and had the front tow eyes reversed and welded to it, and bolted it to the frame extensions to hold it in place (link 1 link 2).

I ran heavy power cable to the back bumper too, that's the direction I've needed to use the winch most often.

Since you mentioned your 85 truck, I gotta post a pic of my first Toy 4x4, also an 85... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Sure looks that way. Basically did though <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> There's a PullPal a couple of lumps forward; get to a point and you overdrive the cable.

Thanks, we've seen that question before... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

They are 16x8, I traded these for my factory wheels to a friend that wanted 15's.

Cool pics guys! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I like the multi-mount John, great idea. I guess you really never know which end will need the winch. Sweet '85 and FJ60 too.

I can't recall seeing any pics online of anyone who runs their T through nastier shiat than Adam. That winch has probably paid for itself a dozen times over.

I hope Kookadala will post some pics when he returns from his Rubicon trip. Until then, I found a couple of interesting Monster T100 pics -

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Not too much action, but may be interesting. We went camping this past weekend at a big lake here in VA. I gave the popup a springover and oversize tires (6 inches of lift).
