Heh, that's not necessarily true. GenIs (not 2.6L) and GenIIs share the same center link and a few other things that go by different part numbers. When I used to work in the engineering dept of a company that made printing equipment, I came across quite a few parts that were essentially the same part, but had a different P/N because the engineers never bothered to check drawing references.
