Thanks very much. I'll check locally.

I would source several different suppliers for shims if there is some question as to the quality of adjustment you can get from a given thickness.
Shims are pretty easy to come by once you figure out who has them.
Most of the aftermarket outfits sell a pretty generic shim. Fits lots of stuff so they don't have to stock 6 million different shims.
Pretty much as long as the shim fits, it'll be fine. As long as the nuts are tight, they aren't going anywhere.
Whenever we order shims from our parts department we just tell them we need shims. We don't tell them what kind. No problem so far <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Another call to the local dealer received the same answer - not available. Olympia shows them in their system so I ordered some from them. If they don't ship them I'll either use NAPA and a milling machine or make some myself.

Let me look to see if I can find the ones I removed from my Gen I. Standard single slot shims should work. The OEM are double slot. Bob Shaw

Thanks, Bob -
I've ordered some OE shims from Olympia and hope they can get them. Otherwise if nobody has OE pieces I'd rather make them or try to get some from a junk yard than use a single slot shim.
