I have always been partial to the pizza cutter narrow tire approach to tire selection, inspite of the fact that popular opinion always seems to prefer wide tires.

That would depend on what part of the world you're in. Wide tires have caught on big time here in the states, but just about everywhere else in the world, narrow is preferred. Even the OEM tires on overseas Toyotas are much narrower than our stock tires.

I'm sure both types of tires have their place, but if they made MTRs that were 35x10.5-15 or even 33x10.5-15, I'd probably get myself a set, because I've always wanted to try a narrower tire. Plus, carrying a spare or two would be much easier and it's probably easier on the drivetrain and gas mileage. BFG used to make a 33x9.5-15, but I don't think any longer, so our selection of good narrow mud tires that are still reasonably streetable is pretty limited.

One of the strongest arguments for a narrower tire, IMO, is the fact that you can fit a taller tire on a nearly stock Toyota with fewer modifications and lift, if you go narrower than wider.

Having the advantage of a taller tire with lower center of gravity goes a very long way. Something I truely now miss.
