In addition to the SAS job, look for frame rust. The mid 80's trucks are notorious for the frames rusting from the inside out, so by the time you see it, it can be really bad.
Go over the frame with a hammer, especially anywhere the frame transitions from the horizontal (both sides of each side), and where the fuel tank sits against the frame.

Also try to find out when/if the timing chain has been replaced (if it wasn't, bargain down the price).
