I have the exact same issue with my 97 T100 4x4. Have you found a solution? I've tried many of the fixes with wheels, tires, drivelines, but I've seen so many posts for late 9x T100 vibration problems, that I'm thinking it is a manufacturing issue. What the problem is I dont know, but it seems like this problem is very pervasive among T100's

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well, I replaced my tires after I was sure that was the cause of my vibration for all the reasons stated in my earlier post. I bought Bridgestone Revos and had them installed in a shop that had the Haweka adapter and roadforce balancer. The truck felt identical to the way it was when I brought it in. What a disappointment. The Revos are the quietest tires I have ever owned and handle great however.

My front end received new inner and outer tie rod ends during the recall and the shop could not find any problem except said the ball joints were loose. The ball joints were replaced last summer and when told this seemed to back down a bit. I think they were trying to hit me up for some repair work. Anyhow, I'm very confident my front end is in good shape and is tight.

I'm starting to look at rear wheel bearings. My rear tires have some play in them from side to side (axial play). Does anyone have this same issue? I have been living with it because I feel that if it is a bearing issue it will eventually make noise and my truck is quiet. I was thinking that they may be wearing down and that is the cause of the slop. When I tightened my front bearings it did seem to help but only minor. My vibration feels like the grocery cart that I get everytime I do the shopping yet everything seems tight.

Let me know what you find, Vern.

Need a Spot
Shedman,
I replaced my Big O tires back in December with Bridgestone Dueler A/T. I noticed the Big O's were not the stock size Toyota called for with the 16" wheel, so I figured I'd go back to what the book called for and see if it helped. The vibration is pretty much completely gone. I still feel it sometimes around 35 when I first start driving, but it is gone at 65.
Some other info, I bought the tires at Costco, and I don't think they have the Haweka adapter. The tires still ride great and have no vibration issues. However, I did get mud on the right tire (only) the other day turning off a road. When I started to drive down the road the imbalence of the mud on the tire started an intense vibration, but once the mud was gone, so was the vibration.
For me, I'd have to say it was the tires, or at least, new tires got rid of the vibration being caused by some other worn part. I know how frustrating this can be....
Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.
I won't be near a computer until Monday, so I'll respond then.

Vern.

For information purposes, I believe Costco does have the Haweka adapter. This may be specific to your local Costo, but I know the Costco that does my tires balances them this way. So the best policy may be to call your Costco to find out. FWIW, I've bought tires from them twice now... been VERY happy both times with balance and all other aspects of the purchase/installation.

I agree Costco has never done me bad. Has anyone ever successfully negotiated with them to go bigger on tire size? My speedo would be right on with 265-75Rs vs stock 265-70s but they won't do anything but stock listed sizes.
