Yep, WD-40 isn't really a penetrating oil... at least that's not what it was designed for.

WD-40 got it's name because the guy who invented it was trying to invent a corrosion inhibitor, by displacing water.
On his 40th mix, he got what he wanted it... so his "Water Displacement" on his "40th" try got WD-40 it's name.

While it does offer some penetrating capabilities, it's not as good as other products, such as PB Blaster, etc..
It does however offer great cleaning options and it's ability to displace and protect against water corrosion.

PB Blaster is gods gift to man... and yes, Liquid Wrench is nothing in comparrison... wanna try out this Kroil stuff, tho <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

BTW, they don't sell PB blaster in places like Home Depot, because its too toxic or something... go figure <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
