I can definitely see where Jessica is coming from, and the stated facts all make a lot of sense, in theory. However, I submit that an owner of a 1st gen is more likely to have paid off his/her vehicle and would, therefore, have more discretionary spending money available for modifications. ThatÆs the position that IÆm currently in. I can afford to spend the $750 on a bumper now, but when I was making monthly truck payments, probably not. (BTW, I sure hope my Æ97 Passport is worth more than $800-$1000 now! )
I am a 1st gen owner who simply doesnÆt have the time, skill or desire to build my own bumper; especially not when Joe comes out with the quality of Isuzu gear that he produces. While I do as much of the wrenching on my truck as I can and try to learn what I canÆt, I couldnÆt justify learning how to weld just to attempt to produce a couple of bumpers that I would be happy with. Nope, IÆd rather give my money to Joe and know that IÆll like the final product.
Joe, hopefully you will take all that IÆm saying here with a grain of salt since, obviously, IÆm coming from a biased point of view . I figured youÆre doing a market research survey so; I may as well make my opinion heard! IÆm hoping that enough other 1st gen owners will chime in, too. Not only with their opinions, but also with the willingness to put up a deposit to pay for your initial development costs.
