If the problem is consistant, could be the TPS is damaged on the inside. Burns or whatever to the traces on the board and when the finger like contacts run over that area, continuity is lost...as it passes back onto good traces things return to normal.

My original TPS on the 88' finally gave up the ghost this last spring. Seemed fine except at just off of idle Id get a stumble. Figured it out one day holding throttle at different areas until I found the dead spot. Tried resetting the TPS, but it wouldnt even get close due to the damage being where it was.
