$700 is low, That is probbly just for a reseal, where if there are broken parts theye will call you and tell you after the thing is apart that you need $400 more in parts. I know how it works. I see people <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />
When they just left aa*co or Bob's trans shop and the thing shifts like crap.

That was my other worry, $700 made me think they weren't even going to drop it, maybe clean the valebody and throw some lubeguard in it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> or hold my truck at gun point and begin sending me bills

I guess I'll go with the used unit plus then I'll have the lockup <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks man <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Do the A/T shops rebuild them at the shop? OR is there some central rebuild place where they send them to be rebuilt?

A little of both, mainly they build them at the shop they are at, but sometimes they will have one built before you even get there and they just put that in. I would never work for one of those shops for just that reason.

In little a/t shops, they have an R&R guy, and a bench guy. The R&R guy is the heavy lifting dummy. The bench guy knows how to build units, but not how to diagnose them. The only guy who knows jack all is the owner, who is busy trying to keep the R&R guy and the bench guy paid, and doesn't fool with trannies anymore....
