Glad I came back to continue reading the follow up posts . .

For what is worth my freeway\highway driving consists of 12 miles each way with ~10 hours parking in between and the truck has 107k miles on it.

The factory fix, for the early models, evidently is an updated shifter that sits on top of the transmission that incorporates what was explained to me as a drain tube. I didn't get a good look at it as it was already installed and the transmission shop was holding up the old one while explaining the differences.

Frankly for the time and effort it took to get the factory part, if the article at: http://www.planetisuzoo.com/articles.htm/102 works I'd try it first.

And as for going back and "arguing" with the guys who changed the fluids, that's not what I said nor meant to imply. I said:

"In the meantime I'm headed back to the shop that did the oil change 2 months ago with my service record. I want them to explain how I "lost" that much transmission fluid after they checked all the fluid levels. I'm begining to think they're just "checking" the boxes."

I've been working at my 12 mile distant job for 17 years now and making the trip in this truck for the last 13 years. I still think they owe me an explaination and I want to "discuss" it.
