Ha!
*cough*
Diesel=$2.98/gal
A "fillup" comes out to about $100.
When I bought my truck, diesel was somewhere in the range of $1.28/gal (3 years ago).
Needless to say, I don't "fillup" very often.
Michael Same here. Bought my 7.3 PSD 4 years ago. Was paying 30-40 cents a gallon less for diesel than regular gas. Went past two different stations this week, both within 5 miles. BP diesel was $2.74/Gal Shell was $2.54/Gal. BP station must be real proud of their fuel

Went past two different stations this week, both within 5 miles. BP diesel was $2.74/Gal Shell was $2.54/Gal. BP station must be real proud of their fuel BP doesn't rely on Middle East imports of oil. They use U.S. reserves. I know it's more money in the short-run; But, I buy BP gas whenever I can. Once gas prices reach a certain level, it will become feasable for all U.S. oil companies to refine our own U.S. reserves of oil. Then prices should stabilize and we will no longer be dependant on foriegn reserves. In the past, OPEC has successfully capped prices at just below the "feasablity" level. Hopefully this time that will not happen. If we can endure, we may someday be free from OPEC!

Michael Same here. Last time I filled up, the pump stopped pumping at $75. Some kind of "limit" they have on credit card purchases or some goofy thing. Guess I'll NEVER be able to fill up again....unless I wait a day and go back to finish filling up the tank. Pretty sad situation.

we got on the subject of deisel/fuel prices ( i have a Powerstroke)...............
Deisel in england is $2.60+ a Liter...........yep 4 liters to the gallon.............yep $11.00 gallon

Yes there is a reason I've got a 500cc motorcycle for commuting. BTW now would be a great time to invest in motorcycle stocks. Just attended my first MSF class tonight and more than half the people there were buying bikes to offset their high fuel costs. I'm thinking about getting a motorcycle too. I'm gonna wait till next spring/summer though. Good luck with your MSF class.

= I dont even care what the mileage is on one of those. I wouldnt drive it everyday if you paid me a million dollars. Probably sounds like an RC car.... Ive heard that overseas that gas is better than here. I think thats part of the reason noone likes americans anymore. We complain about everything, including good fortune (relatively good anyway...) Ill take my 12MPG until I run it into the ground. Then ill go with something a little more friendly to the wallet: This oughta be fun... -J

A "fillup" comes out to about $100. Like I said, I know others have it worse (but I didn't know people in the US were pushing $100/tank), but for me and my budget, this is rough. I've been looking for a commuter car. I was hoping to wait until I got some debt paid off, but I'm not sure I can wait now.
