I think if you're running a Chevy 2.8L V6, then your other option would be using a Jeep 2.5L bellhousing to bolt up a Toyota W55-58 gearbox. That 2.8L is not going to hurt the Toyota W series tranny. Specifically, you also need a Camaro flywheel. Since the W55 input shaft is shorter than the Jeep bellhousing, the extra thick Camaro\Firebird 2.8\3.1\3.4 flywheel places the clutch disk back far enough to get total spline engagement. S10 flywheel won't work. It's too thin. Also, the 88 and later flywheel's have a neutral balance so you'll have to get the flyweel that matches your engine. Advance Adapters make an off the shelf pilot bushing that mates a GM size crank hole to a Toyo pilot size. It's also long enough to take up the distance for the short input shaft.
